Fabfrocks was launched in early 2007 by Tor Brierley, who wanted her own space to share her thoughts about high street and high end fashion. As the blog grew and expanded, Tor also used the blog to explore her interest in beauty, personal style, health, and home. When Tor had her first baby in 2012 the blog grew again, to reflect her new life as a mum.
Fabfrocks got its name because of Tor's obsession with wearing dresses: she almost never wears jeans or trousers!
In 2011, Fabfrocks will be rebranding to Fabfrocks World (http://www.fabfrocksworld.co.uk/) with a complete site redesign to follow shortly afterwards.
About Tor
Tor started her career in online content writing and then began writing blogs on a freelance basis. This led her to start her own blog, and Fabfrocks was born.
At the end of 2007 Tor realised she wanted to explore her passions for both literature and fashion, and returned to the University of East Anglia to undertake a Masters degree in Studies in Fiction, focusing on the role of fashion in '60s literature. This goes some way to explaining why Mary Quant is one of the most popular search terms on the blog!
Since completing her Masters degree Tor has continued working in online content writing as a style and fashion editor, and community manager and editor for a parenting website. Aside from fashion and literature Tor's other interests include travel, Chinese history (Tor lived and taught English in China for six months) and experimenting (mostly unsuccessfully) in the kitchen.
"There's more to life than fashion, but it helps!"
